Artist Statement

My work explores the complex relationship between beauty, identity, memory, and transformation. Using layers of paint, collage, and deconstruction, I create imagined spaces where fragments of fashion, architecture, nature, and the human figure collide. Each painting is constructed, torn apart, and rebuilt, allowing destruction to become an essential part of its creation.

I am fascinated by beauty culture and the powerful role it plays in shaping how we see ourselves and how we wish to be seen. Fashion, cosmetics, luxury objects, and symbols of femininity appear throughout my work, not as celebrations or criticisms, but as visual language. They represent both aspiration and burden, confidence and insecurity, expression and performance. They speak to the ongoing negotiation between our external presentation and our inner lives.

Beneath these surfaces lies a quieter conversation about longing, vulnerability, grief, resilience, and the search for authenticity. Figures dissolve into landscape, architecture merges with memory, and organic forms emerge from fragments that once appeared disconnected. The paintings become places where opposing forces can exist together. Strength and fragility. Desire and surrender. Material beauty and spiritual depth.

I am interested in the moments that change us long before we understand them. My paintings are less about documenting those moments than creating spaces where viewers can encounter their own experiences within them. Through fragmentation and reconstruction, I hope to reveal that beauty is not found in perfection, but in the evidence of becoming.
